For over a decade, I’ve coordinated and contributed to collaborative fiber arts projects in San Francisco and beyond. This work centers healing, equity, and community resilience, combining hands-on making with dialogue, education, and public engagement.
My most significant project is In My Fluffy Pajamas, a collaboration with Iranian-born artist Badri Valian that uses textile art and storytelling to surface narratives of immigration, displacement, and belonging. Working with partners including the Chinese Culture Center, Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts, and Center for Art and Public Life, we’ve facilitated trauma-informed, multilingual workshops and large-scale public events engaging 10,000+ participants. This work has been supported by $45,000+ in grants from the San Francisco Arts Commission, Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center, and Center for Art and Public Life.
I also coordinate public displays of the Liberty Crochet Mural (a national reproductive justice project), participate in panels and community conversations, and contribute to collaborative public art throughout the Bay Area. Additionally, I create fiber installations for gallery exhibitions, extending the healing practice of crochet into immersive, interactive spaces.
The portfolio below offers a visual overview of this work, including workshop photos, exhibition images, and examples of how I pair community practice with public art and installation.
