A large portion of the blogging work that I have done has been in the field of technology. Specific areas of the industry that I am particularly knowledgeable about include broadband news, wireless technology and trends, and VoIP services. I have also done extensive writing about the Internet itself; samples for that work can be seen at the Web Writing and Web 2.0 page.
Samples of my technology blogging and writing include:
- DialAPhone, Wireless News and Technology Reporter, Mobile Phone Review Writer. I provide short industry-related news pieces as well as twice-weekly feature articles about the industry for this leading UK mobile phones blog. (It's ranked as a Top 20 tech blog by Wikio.) I also provide both short and long reviews of new mobile phone handsets.
- Broadband Reports, Weekend News Blogger from 2006-2008 reporting on broadband news for this leading site in the industry. This is an example of a short-post news site in which I would write 5-6 articles per day about the latest news in the industry. Sample post.
- PC World VoIP Blog Writer. I provided VoIP news and information three times per week as part of this leading tech company's new set of blogs. They ultimately decided to go a different direction with blogging but my VoIP blog did well while it was in operation.
- Mac World Expo, event reporter 2008. This is an example of doing live event blogging in which I attended the event and posted multiple times daily with information about what was going on there.
- Techzoogle Gadget Reviewer. I worked briefly as a contributor to this site through which I did short reviews and news posts related to emerging gadgets.
My success in technology blogging has been comprised mostly of working with leading companies. This has allowed me to network extensively with people in the industry who now serve as a strong support system for the smaller tech businesses that I do work with. |
