KV-

Just checking in here to make sure you're ok and you've worked your family crisis out.

"have quit a large percentage of my blogging jobs and am taking a two-month-maybe-more sabbatical from the rest of them in order to pursue some projects of my own. At least one of these projects is a blogging project - www.sanfranciscoissexy.com, my new blog about everything that is sexy in San Francisco."

New project looks great. Good luck. ;)

I don't have any advertisements on my personal blog, so it's certainly not intended to generate income, but I do get a lot of freebies sent to me for review. (My husband claims that this saves us thousands of dollars a year that I would have otherwise spent on books, though I do still book shop from my personal wish list too.) I've even branched out into reviewing art, films, and toys from time to time. I receive more review requests than one person could possibly handle, so I have the luxury of being choosey about what I spend my time reviewing, but there are some reliable publishers and publicists who consistently send me worthwhile items to review, and I always look forward to receiving packages in the mail from them.

I enjoy, like you said, writing about writing, and even though I just published a nonfiction book, am working on a novel, and do a fair amount of freelance journalism, I love blogging for the sheer personal enjoyment it provides.
