Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving day. It’s such a terrific time to celebrate family and friends and embrace an attitude of gratitude. I thought today would be a great day to share with you some things related to thankfulness.

My Thankfulness Writing

One of the articles I’ve written on the topic of thankfulness was ideas for making your significant other feel appreciated. This includes simply saying thanks! One of the Thanksgiving articles I’ve written in the past was Thanksgiving Weekend Getaway Ideas.

A Thankfulness Tip for Parents

My favorite tip for encouraging thankfulness in kids is to make it a part of your daily routine to have everyone in the house say what they are thankful for that day. I think it’s a great daily dinner table conversation but it can also be something you do at night before bed or even every time you are in the car together.  This shows kids that there is something to be thankful for every day. It works gratitude into their daily lives in a way that is everlasting. It encourages creativity in coming up with new answers each day. It strengthens the open communication and bonds in your family. It provides an easy way for you to continually model gratitude yourself. Much more impactful than just telling your kids to “say thanks” rotely.

My Thanks to Others

I have an endless number of people to thank in both my personal and professional life as you would be able to tell if you saw the lengthy acknowledgments in just my most recent book. I have been lucky to have met (virtually and actually) so many amazing, supportive, inspiring people. But for today, I just want to give a special thanks to all of the people who read what I write. Without you, my stories are almost nothing.
